San Antonio-born and Conroe-based artist Julie Wright works with found objects to create pop-inspired relief sculptures that comment on our collective childhood memories and obsessions. Wright creates nostalgic pieces that resonate with children ages 1-99 by collaging impressions of familiar toys in plaster sculptures reminding us all that you’re never too old to indulge in the art of play.

Across generations, my art sparks feelings of excitement, nostalgia, and happiness. I create relief sculptures by making impressions of found objects that have made a lasting impact on so many of us in both childhood and adulthood. Like a game of “I Spy”, my art makes you hunt for familiar favorites and serves as a reminder to slow down and reconnect with your inner child.
